Instructions for Use

Before You Begin:

1. Take a Photograph
   • Take a photograph of the area you’re treating so you can better ask for advice during the treatment. Regular photos are also helpful to track your progress and share your story with others.
2. Research and Gather Information
   • Try to get an idea of what you are treating and its size from the Bloodroot Group on Facebook.
   • Visit www.bloodrootsalve.com. Under the Information tab, read the FAQs and Be Salve Aware.

3. Skin Test
   • Carry out a skin test by applying a small amount of salve to a patch of normal skin and covering it for 24 hours. A little redness or itching is normal, but no major reaction means the salve is safe for normal skin.
4. Understand Bloodroot Salve
   • Bloodroot salve is aggressive. Once a reaction starts, it is unlikely to stop until it is done.

Important Note: It’s crucial to follow through with the entire treatment course. Stopping prematurely might result in adverse effects.

 Preparation:

1. Clean the Area
   • Always wash and dry your hands before preparation of the solution. Also, wash and exfoliate the part of the skin to be treated. 
2. Stir the Salve
   • Stir the Bloodroot Salve using a toothpick, or similar tool, making sure it is clean. If the solution is too dry, add a small amount of water and stir until the solution is smooth.

 Application of Bloodroot Salve:

1. Apply Salve
   • Apply Bloodroot Salve over the lesion, at least 2mm thick. The maximum diameter should be 20mm (use a ruler if necessary).
   • Leave the solution for 24 hours and cover with a bandage or dressing. You can use gauze or paper tape. 
2. Reapply if Necessary
   • In case the solution detaches from the skin, re-apply. You can shower normally; make sure to re-apply the Bloodroot Salve afterward.
3. Reapply if No Strong Reaction
   • After 24 hours, if there are no inflammatory reactions, remove the solution by washing it with water. 
   • If you’re unsatisfied with the result, re-apply the Bloodroot salve after 1-2 days, following the same process mentioned above.

If You Have a Positive Reaction:

• Sustained Redness and Swelling
  • You may notice sustained redness and swelling. A lump may rise under the skin, and spots may appear around the area.
• Salve Absorption
  • The bloodroot salve may sink into the lesion and become part of the eschar, which is normal.

If there is NO Major Reaction, consider yourself lucky!

Healing:

• Keep the Area Moist and Covered
  • To speed healing, keep the cavity moist, clean, and covered. Normal showering is okay. Consider using Zen Healing Balm for faster healing and pain relief.

DO NOT:

• Do not apply salve every day, or treat multiple spots at once. Apply the salve, then WAIT and let it do its job for the next few days.
• Do not pull the eschar out once it forms after a few days.
• Do not try to treat a large problem area without knowledgeable assistance.
• Do not ignore your diet and lifestyle, which are the most important ways to strengthen your immune system against stem cells.
